BROADBAND (SME)

Maximise your customer’s online capabilities

As the scale and complexity of the online environment grows, the cost of monitoring and managing it is increasing. In today’s highly competitive market, downtime and sluggish performance are no longer an inconvenience, but a potential disaster. As a tool for high-speed, always-on access, broadband is the only way forward for businesses of any size.

ACCESS SOLUTIONS

The scope and nature of business applications are growing in complexity. Connectivity channels are expanding and becoming more sophisticated. The sheer bulk of content delivered via company networks is rising. The result: an ever-increasing demand for bandwidth – which makes optimal use of the available capacity a non-negotiable.

AFRICA SOLUTIONS

IS is connecting solutions from the world to the African continent

Advances in technology are enabling African companies to compete and win in the competitive global economy. IS is at the forefront of wireless technology, harnessing mobile communications and satellite technology as well as fibre optic solutions which enable the provision of a reliable infrastructure and readily available bandwidth to enterprises with African networks.

APPLICATION SOLUTIONS

Give your customers the cost-effective cutting edge

Advances in technology are continually changing the way we do business. Organisations are under constant pressure to communicate across an increasingly complex range of platforms, applications and devices – at a rapidly spiralling cost. And, with the risk of today’s costly, cutting-edge purchase becoming tomorrow’s dated – or even wasted – technology, the stakes are higher than ever.

HOSTING SOLUTIONS

Get your customer’s business running online

The availability of online applications and the management of large volumes of data traffic and storage have become critical to business continuity. Setting up and maintaining an online business environment is a costly and risky undertaking. Compromised security or failure to provide access to mission-critical facilities on a 24×7 basis can spell disaster.

MOBILE SOLUTIONS

IS mobility solutions, offers you, the corporate user the ability to stay connected 24 hours a day where ever you are. Mobility is a key driver in data communications. As the leader in corporate data delivery in South Africa, our experience in supporting and servicing large and complex networks make us an ideal partner for any client wishing to provide a mobility solution to their users.

SECURITY SOLUTIONS

Give your customers peace of mind

Every day, businesses are exposed to new internet security threats, spyware and spam. They must also guard against hackers intent on wreaking havoc on their network. Then there are the threats from within the organisation. And with legislation shifting the responsibility and liability for information security in-house, few companies have the resources or know-how to shoulder the burden alone.

VoIS SOLUTIONS

Speak the language your customers want to hear: cost savings

With so many service providers jumping on the VoIP bandwagon, it’s difficult for businesses to tell fact from fiction. The promise of lower telephony costs, while important, is only one side of the coin. IS has invested in the infrastructure, technical expertise, backup and bandwidth capabilities to deliver the quality of service that businesses require.

VPN SOLUTIONS

Help your customers connect with their clients more cost-effectively

In the global economy, the need for always-on, secure 24×7 connectivity has become a non-negotiable. But building and maintaining a future-proof network infrastructure capable of delivering mission-critical voice, video and integrated data requirements is neither easy nor cheap.

DOMAINS

Internet Solutions commitment to deliver a full diversity of Internet communication solutions now includes the ability to register .com domains. We have recently been appointed the ICANN accreditation, the only ISP in Africa with this capability

Applications

Application Solutions has extensive experience in delivering enterprise functionality business productivity and messaging solutions which are centrally managed and hosting in the IS data centres. This software-as-a-service application delivery model revolutionises the total cost of ownership of business IT solutions.

Microsoft ASP Licences

As a Microsoft Certified ASP, we are entitled to ‘on-rent’ software licenses to customers on a monthly basis.  ASP licensing has been of significant assistance to customers facing the prospect of Microsoft’s new licensing programs, which in addition to the traditional upfront costs, now requires significant on-going expenditure. Under this service, a customer chooses to let IS acquire the necessary software licenses through various Service Provider License Agreements (SPLA). IS then becomes the licensee of the software and will ‘on-rent’ it to its customers. The two ways of licensing on this basis are Subscriber Access License (SAL) and CPU Access License (CAL).

Enterprise Application Delivery Service

Enterprise Application Delivery is a dynamic virtualisation solution that transforms applications and desktops into on-demand services that enable users to work securely and productively from anywhere. In the case of the Enterprise Application Delivery Services, organisations connect to a range of applications which they would like to host at IS.

Hosted Exchange

Hosted Exchange offers a robust, hosted, outsourced and fully managed implementation of Microsoft Hosted Exchange. Located within the Internet Solutions’ Data Centre, the service incorporates a range of security, content and management features in addition to a redundant network infrastructure system and the best engineering staff in the country.

IS Fax

The IS FAX Solution is a state of the art fax over IP service offered by Internet Solutions (IS) to the Corporate and SMME market supported by the IS infrastructure. IS FAX Solutions offer a seamless operation with no software or hardware requirements that includes least cost routing (LCR) fax facilities to National destinations like Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria and Port Elizabeth and most International destinations supported by Pangea Communications Corporation who currently has the largest fax network in the world with the biggest footprint covering all continents.

Grapevine Messaging Solutions

Messaging services provide a bridge between voice services and the multi-media services of the future. Organisations opt to use one, many, or all of the comprehensive set of messaging services while fees for the services are based purely on “per-usage” basis, regardless of the number of services used. This ensures organisations make full use of the available services, and benefit from economies of scale as the number of messages increase.  Internet Solutions and Grapevine Interactive have made many services available to clients, all at a single monthly fee, based entirely on the volumes of SMS’ or messages utilised.

The device – located on the customers network – permits management from a single interface and offers detailed reports to administrators. Hardware and software are incorporated into the service and managed by IS.

IS Outsourced Firewall

The IS Outsourced Firewall offering enables IS customers to provision ‘best of breed’ firewalls within one of IS’ secure Internet Data Centres. The solution is “outsourced” in that Internet Solutions take full responsibility for the hardware, software and infrastructure components of the solution. As a customer, you retain full control over the firewall rule base, which can be modified to suit your individual security policy requirements.

IS Vulnerability Assessment

The IS Vulnerability Scan is a fully automated vulnerability analysis solution which allows a client to automatically detect and address new threats to Internet facing systems as they emerge. This automated scanning gives the assurance that any Internet facing systems are secure against hackers, crackers, trojans and virus threats at all times. This remains true, regardless of the configuration changes and no matter how many vulnerabilities are discovered, the solution constantly tests and probes for any security weakness that could lead to a security compromise or breach.

The IS Web Filter can monitor, proactively control and restrict user browsing permissions saving valuable bandwidth and boosting staff productivity. Each service within the security portfolio can exist as a standalone solution which includes full reporting, proactive management and support. These services can integrate and coincide with any of the complimentary security solutions to provide a customised outsourced security environment which directly caters for specific security requirements.

Telco Services

IS Telco Services forms an integral part of IS’ last mile wireless and fibre offerings. Since the decision by ICASA in early 2009 to convert existing VANs license holders to ECNS licenses, we are now able to build our own infrastructure and offer 100% legal services in the unlicensed wireless bands, as well as deploy fibre networks. We offer services on our own infrastructure, or facilitate the provisioning of new infrastructure from a number of alternate network access providers. By offering our own services and those of other network access providers, we ensure our coverage is extended as widely as possible, as well as offering a choice of service providers for true redundancy.

EThekwini Fibre

EThekwini Fibre is a layer 2 Virtual Private Network (VPN) service, provided to clients over the eThekwini Municipality next generation network (NGN) as a ‘first mile’ service, in order to provision Internet Solutions Access, MPLS and independent point-to-point services. EThekwini Fibre offers high bandwidth and low latencies. This can create true network and Telco redundancy to client’s currently utilising non Internet Solutions Telco last mile circuits.

NeoLink

NeoLink is a clear channelled leased line, which offers two interface types, TDM and Ethernet. This product is positioned to provide connectivity over long distances. This product offers minimal latency with an option for full redundancy on Neotel’s Core network and local loop.  This product is offered in Point-to-Point connectivity. The bandwidth amounts offered are in 2Mbps increments from 2Mbps upwards.

Neo Metro-E

Neo Metro-E is a cost effective and reliable method of providing large bandwidth connectivity within a metropolitan area. The network is deployed using carrier class Ethernet standards. This product is less expensive when compared with NG-SDH or IP-VPN solutions. Neo Metro-E supports high bandwidth and allows for seamless upgrades. This product is offered in Point-to-Point connectivity. The bandwidth amounts offered is in increments of 10Mbps, 100Mbps up to 1 Gig.

Winet

The Winet carrier class microwave service is a last mile, layer 2, wireless ‘leased line equivalent’. WiNet operates in the unregulated Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) spectrum range, specifically in the 5.470 – 5.725 GHz band where customers can quickly and inexpensively leverage new or additional access services. Since wireless solutions are inherently scalable, upgrades can normally be provisioned without any additional infrastructure costs.

VoIS

IS introduced Voice over IS (VoIS) in early 2005 as a full portfolio of converged voice services, allowing customers to achieve greater flexibility and cost-effectiveness on all their telephony needs. IS customers receive a reliable communication service and outstanding call quality.  All converged voice and data services are delivered over the IS MPLS network which was designed to carry both voice and data traffic. VoIS customers can choose the individual components of the service they require and change or add further components as their needs grow.

VoIS Community

VoIS Community allows IS VoIP users to leverage off our vast customer base to significantly reduce call costs. It allows calls to be routed between any IS VoIP customer using the IS Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. This community covers current international destinations as well as local and national. As these calls do not require any Telco breakout, it is possible to offer them at a considerably lower rate than the current Telco offering.

VoIS Contact International

The VoIS Contact International service is a solution through which IS carries inbound international Call Centre calls and terminates them at a local destination on behalf of the customer. The service is delivered on top of the IS MPLS VPN and calls are billed either on a per second basis, with no minimum cost per call or on a fixed monthly bandwidth cost depending on the customers requirements. Depending on the customer’s calling patterns, savings of between 40% and 50% can be achieved.

VoIS Local

VoIS Local provides IS customers with the ability to make significant savings on their local call costs. Calls are carried from the customer, over the IS MPLS network, and then carried onto the PSTN, to the sites local dialling area.  This service is currently available in the 01X, 02X and 03X dialling areas and is being expanded on an on-going basis. Depending on calling patterns, savings of up to 26% can be achieved on local calls.

VoIS National

VoIS National provides IS customers with the ability to make significant savings on their long distance call costs. Calls are carried from the customer, over the IS MPLS network, and then carried onto the PSTN, to any location in South Africa.

VoIS Cellular

VoIS Cellular provides IS customers with the ability to make further significant savings on their fixed line to cellular calling costs. Calls are carried from the customer, over the IS MPLS network, to the IS centralised cellular infrastructure. This solution eliminates the need for individual on-site premi-cell network provisioning. The customer leverages off the IS infrastructure investment and does not need to be concerned with onsite network balancing, free minute utilisation and number portability. Depending on the customer’s calling patterns, savings of between 35% and 45% can be achieved on cellular calls. Calls are billed on a per second basis, with no minimum cost per call, and at a uniform rate, regardless of the distance of the call. IS has established interconnects with the cellular providers and currently use these for redundancy when required.

VoIS Global

VoIS Global provides IS customers the ability to make significant savings on their international call costs. Calls are carried from the customer, over the IS MPLS network, and then onto our international partner Telco’s who complete the call. Depending on the customer’s calling patterns, savings of between 40% and 60% can be achieved on international calls. Calls are billed on a per second basis, with no minimum cost per call. The VoIS Global service can be combined with the VoIS Community service, thus resulting in a greater combined saving on outbound calls to international VoIS customers.

VoIS Anywhere

VoIS Anywhere enables a Customer to make and receive calls, using a softphone client, installed on their laptop, from anywhere and on condition that the Customer is connected to the internet. Local connectivity to the VoIS community is not a prerequisite for this service, however, in order for a company to benefit from community rates, their onsite telephony would need to be VoIS enabled

VoIS Conferencing

VoIS Conferencing (also known as conference calling) connects three or more participants on a single telephone call. These calls are quick and simple to set up and don’t require any specialized equipment. VoIS Conferencing makes use of the current IS BroadWorks platform.

VoIS Extend

The VoIS Extend service provides international travellers with a UK of US fixed line number that will connect the caller to a predetermined VoIS Community destination in South Africa. Local connectivity to the VoIS Community is a prerequisite for this service. This service offers the following benefits to the caller and company: The caller only pays a local UK or US call rate and does not have exorbitant call costs to claim back from the employer after the trip. The VoIS portion of the call is billed directly to the company. The total call cost is greatly reduced. Local South African companies can advertise a UK or US number to internationally based clients for them to call at local UK or US rates

IS ADSL VoIS

IS ADSL VoIS is the easy way to save money on your phone bill as the service allows you to better use your existing ADSL line to include the much talked about Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology. IS ADSL VoIS also allows you to manage your voice service and billing from one central point

VPN Solutions

The breadth and depth of the IS Virtual Private Network (VPN) service offering has grown substantially in the 6 years that it has been on offer. Currently two independent networks are used to provide VPN services to over 250 corporate customers. The VPN services are seamlessly integrated with international partner networks to provide satellite-, fibre- and terrestrial-based VPN solutions throughout Africa and rest of the world. From 500-site multi-national mission critical corporate networks, to single-site third party connectivity, IS VPN services are designed to cater for any networking requirement.

MPLS VPN

The Internet Solutions “Multi-Protocol Label Switching Virtual Private Network” (MPLS VPN) is a corporate service that offers managed secure connectivity between corporate sites. MPLS technology replaces traditionally older technologies such as a Layer 2 Switch network as well as a Wide Area Network (WAN) with a fully-outsourced world-wide de facto MPLS VPN.

IS ADSL MPLS

In the constant quest to offer customers new services IS is proud to offer Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) connectivity to the IS MPLS network. Currently there are several connectivity methods used to access the IS MPLS network, some of which are Leased Lines, ATM, ISDN, ADSL, GPRS, 3G, Edge, HSCSD, HSDPA, Satellite, Fibre and Ethernet. ADSL therefore joins the above list.

IS InfoConnect

The IS InfoConnect service allows a corporate to connect to multiple service providers that are offering services or applications on the MPLS network. Instead of a corporate using multiple leased lines to gain access to service providers such as Standard Bank, FNB, ITC and Experian, with the use of the IS MPLS VPN they can gain access via a single connection.

International VPN

Through IS’ International VPN solutions, it is possible for customers to deal with a single solution provider. IS has deployed a VPN node in London, New York and Hong Kong with submarine VPN fibre connectivity back to South Africa. Connectivity to Europe and North America is provided over SAT2 and SAT3 cable systems, while connectivity to Hong Kong is provided via SAFE. These nodes connect seamlessly to partner international frame relay and MPLS backbones in these regions. IS currently offer delivery of frame relay and MPLS services into approximately 85 countries around the world. All international VPN services are delivered seamlessly with IS providing the single point of contact for the customer. Management of international VPN solutions is provided on the same basis as IS’ local VPN solutions.
